Following the Annual General Meeting at St John’s, Hook our chairman, Geoff Willis, interviewed Jozef Gaszka, Organ Scholar at Guildford Cathedral about his musical life. Jozef then closed the afternoon event with a brilliant recital played on the excellent Wyvern organ.

Joint visit with ESOA to Lavant, Donnington and Chichester

 

Our host, Alan Thurlow, demonstrates the organ at St John the Evangelist, Chichester, built in 1825 by G.P. England and restored to its original specification (G-compass)  by Goetze and Gwynn.

AGM and Talk by Martin Barnes

Twenty four members gathered in anticipation of an entertaining afternoon and they weren’t disappointed. The formal business was dealt with in 45 minutes followed by a buffet lunch. Martin Barnes gave an entertaining and instructive talk about bellringing. Everyone was invited play some well known tunes on a beautiful set of handbells ‘conducted’ by Geoff Willis using a long baton and music in numbers on a large screen.
